The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 13th September 2026 – Jamjoom Pharma, a pioneer in ophthalmology in the Middle East and Africa for decades and one of the region’s leading pharmaceutical companies, has announced the signing of an exclusive licensing and commercialization agreement with Nordic Pharma for Lacrifill Canalicular Gel across the Middle East & Africa region.
For years, Jamjoom Pharma has built and sustained one of the most established ophthalmology franchises in the region, earning the trust of eye care professionals through a broad and continually evolving portfolio. The addition of Lacrifill builds on this legacy, complementing an already rich offering with a differentiated, next-generation option for the management of Dry Eye Disease.
Lacrifill is FDA cleared and CE-marked approved and is indicated to temporarily block tear drainage through occlusion of the canalicular system in patients with dry eye. The product is currently available in the United States and, following CE mark certification, across a range of European markets. Availability in MEA markets will be subject to completion of the respective local regulatory registration and approval requirements.
Dry eye disease represents one of the most significant burdens within the ophthalmology space, accounting for 41% of the total MEA ophthalmology market; a nearly $200 million opportunity across the region. Jamjoom Pharma is proud to lead this critical segment, holding the #1 market position with more than 15% share, built on a portfolio trusted by patients and physicians across the region for the care of a condition that, if left untreated, can significantly impact quality of life and long-term eye health.
With the introduction of this innovative new product, Jamjoom Pharma is set to reinforce this leadership position, expanding access to advanced dry eye treatment for patients across the Middle East and Africa while further strengthening the company’s competitive edge in one of ophthalmology’s fastest-growing therapeutic areas. This innovative product is expected to materially strengthen Jamjoom Pharma’s Market share in the Dry eye segment.
Dr. Tarek Youssef Hosni, CEO of Jamjoom Pharma, commented: “Our vision has always been to close the gap between what patients in the Middle East and Africa deserve and what they have historically had access to. Ophthalmology is where we have proven, over decades, that this is possible; through sustained investment in manufacturing excellence, regulatory depth, and partnerships with the world’s most credible innovators. This agreement with Nordic Pharma is a continuation of that vision, and a signal of where we intend to keep leading: making world-class eye care a reality across every market we serve.”
Charlotte Phelps, Chief Executive Officer, Nordic Group B.V, Said:
“Jamjoom Pharma’s longstanding leadership and deep expertise in ophthalmology across the Middle East and Africa make them an ideal partner for bringing Lacrifill to patients and eye care professionals across the region. We are delighted to collaborate with a company that shares our commitment to addressing unmet patient needs and expanding access to innovative specialty treatments for Ocular Surface Health. This partnership marks an important step in our business and Lacrifill will become available to more patients living with Dry Eye Disease, while leveraging Jamjoom Pharma’s strong regulatory, commercial and distribution capabilities across MEA.”
Under the terms of the agreement, Jamjoom Pharma will be responsible for the regulatory registration, commercialization, marketing, and distribution of Lacrifill throughout MEA markets.
